What is Valentine's Day?
It is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other; sending Valentine cards, candy or donations to charities, often anonymously.
The Greeting Card Association estimates that approximately One Billion valentines are sent each year worldwide, making the day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year behind Christmas. Estimates show that women purchase approximately 85 percent of all valentines.
Here's what Valentine's Day mean to a few children at Life Tab:
Madison: Valentines Day is a time for love. Love is caring and showing respect.
Kelsey: Valentines Day is somebody falling in love. Love is having a crush on someone. Love is sometimes loving your brother.
Howie: Valentines Day is getting cards and candy.
Darren: Valentines Day is love, parties, and candy. Love is about loving each other, and having a girlfriend.
If only adults could look through the eyes of a child and see how simple love could really be, then there wouldn't be so many divorces, and broken homes. The Love of God is so much Greater.
